Here at Vignette, we love walls. Short walls, fat walls, skinny walls, tall walls. We love ‘em all. Fortunately, for us, New York City is home to some of the best street art in the world. We haven’t even begun to scratch the surface, but we’ve compiled a few of our favorites.

2. This adorable couple can be found hanging around in the Lower East Side. Artist Bradley Theodore has painted several beautiful skeletons throughout the city, including the famous Anna Wintour and Karl Lagerfeld skellies in Nolita.

1. This sobering reminder by artist and graphic designer Barbara Kruger can be found as you walk along the High Line. It is an adaptation of the statement “Blind idealism is reactionary,” originally made by Afro-Caribbean philosopher and revolutionary Frantz Fanon.

4. Dutch street artist and illustrator Eelco ‘Virus’ van den berg painted these colorful critters in Bushwick in 2014 on his Montana Spray Can tour. He’s been called one of the most talented street artists to tag New York. We won’t argue.

5. Aaron Li-Hill, a talented painter, illustrator, and installation artist, added this violently beautiful piece to the Bushwick Collective earlier this summer. In a sea of saturated colors, this black and white mural actually stands out. Don’t believe us? Go see it for yourself!

6. On a side street and partially hidden under an awning, this wall will still catch your eye.

7. Brazilian street artist Sipros is known for his peculiar and realistic graffiti depictions. This adorable piece is a standout amongst the others of the Bushwick Collective. If you like art that makes puts a smile on your face, you’ve got to check this one out in person.

Classic art and museums don’t have to be your thing in order to experience some of the best art in and around the city. There aren’t many walls that have gone untouched. If you open your eyes to all the amazing wall murals around New York, you’ll understand why we love them so much.

3. Who doesn’t love a good booze and snacks mural? This tasty piece, by artists Jamie Hef, Tone, and Yes One, is a brand spankin’ new addition to the Bushwick Collective in Bushwick, Brooklyn.
