Although there are many places to visit while you are in New York City and it could take a few days to pack everything in, Vignette gives you our four recommendations of the must go to see places with a significant other, best friend or even by yourself!

1.) The Metropolitan Museum of Art

Four Must Go Places In NYC

By: Kayla Sturm

First and foremost this is definitely a must go to museum! From classical art to medieval to fashion, this museum has it all! For the fashion lovers out there be sure to check out current fashion collections. Currently Manus x Machina is running but only until Sept. 5 - this exhibit shows the creativity of technology and fashion combined. Not only can you visit the museum and show your appreciation for art but you could also grab lunch and find a spot on The Met steps just like Blair Waldorf and Serena Vanderwoodsen. Just be careful though, Gossip girl might be near, xoxo.

2.) Ground Zero

While in NYC, Ground Zero is a place you must visit to pay respects to the innocent lives lost from the tragic attacks on Sept. 11, 2001. A chill feeling of pride will overcome you while visiting this sacred ground because it is an emotional experience. The Freedom Building stands tall and beautiful overlooking where the twin towers used to be and is a breathtaking sight to see. Bring tissues when visiting the memorial because it is a tear jerker!

3.)  DUMBO: Down Under the Manhattan Brooklyn Overpass

Brooklyn is a cool place with hidden gems you wouldn’t expect to see such as Dumbo. If you’re looking to step up your Instagram game, this is the place to go! Dumbo is right by Brooklyn Bridge Park and would be a killer spot to strike a pose by yourself or with friends!

4.) Central Park

This should be on everyone’s bucket list! Central park is one of the largest man made parks and is easy to access in Manhattan. Enjoy a nice hot dog, ice cream cone or cup of coffee as you stroll through acres of green! Not to mention there are some hidden gems in this park  such as the Alice in Wonderland statue, where Chuck and Blair got married (perfect for Gossip Girl fans), fun off trail walking paths, concerts, Shakespeare In The Park and even movie nights!
